“Why Greenleaf Management?”

Greenleaf Management Inc. was launched on my kitchen table in 2003.  I, like many others  in the 21st century experienced a corporate liquidation and after six years of service was told my position ”technically” no longer existed.

After seven years in the private industry and eight years in the consulting arena I found myself at a crossroads in my life.  I felt that divine intervention had placed me in this predicament, but it was up to me to take the first step.   After a considerable amount of thoughts, prayers, discussions, research and listening, I ventured on the road less traveled, and Greenleaf Management Inc. was launched on December 5, 2003.

After my fifteen years of successes and failures, it was time to assist others in avoiding the mistakes and help them to capitalize on the successes.  Greenleaf Management Inc. began with two people and a very limited budget in 2003.  After two months of extreme budgeting, endless hours of marketing and numerous networking luncheons, we received our first project, a phase I environmental assessment for the Ohio Valley Education Cooperative.

After almost seven years and three offices later, we have serviced over 200 clients in the areas of environmental management, health and safety, and regulatory training.  I remember the days working in private industries and dealing with numerous consulting firms, each stating they are the best and brightest, but in the end their services often fell short of our expectations.  Learning from those experiences, our philosophy is to treat each client with respect and over time gain a strong bond of trust, so they know we are with them for the long haul.

Our years of experience in numerous industries enable us to walk in the clients shoes and relate to the frustration of OSHA and EPA compliance in a very complicated world. The saying “Been there done that” perfectly exemplifies our perspective toward our clients needs.  We have been there and made the mistakes, yet have formulated culture-specific solutions and wish to pass that knowledge to our clients.

Mr. Burry is the Co-owner/CEO of Greenleaf Management Inc.; a Louisville based consulting firm specializing in environmental management programs, OSHA compliance, and regulatory training.

Mr. Burry has over twenty years of experience in the environmental health & safety industry.  He has worked both as a consultant to numerous companies and institutions and as a corporate executive overseeing environmental activities for large corporations.  He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), and an OSHA Outreach Trainer.  Mr. Burry has a BS degree in Industrial Risk Management from Eastern Kentucky University and an MS degree in Environmental Management from the University of Findlay.
